2/25
The ball is rolling on my project. I have viewed my lynda videos and am preparing to begin to add media content to my site. I currently have both the Washington Capitals and the Hershey Bears schedule on display on my site. I have also begun the research phase of my project and will continue to work on that. At this point for me the main focus is adding new items to my site and continuing to improve it.

New Post
With the semester progressing I have continued to work on my project. This week I continued to view lynda.com videos and have almost completed them. After meeting with my advisor I also picked up on two tricks that I am currently tampering with, creating new pages as well as adding a Google calendar to my site. Moving forward, I will continue development on my site as well as begin my research.

Lynda Studies
This past week I spent the majority of time watching videos on Lynda.com. I've begun to try out some of the more basic ideas for the time being and I intend to build upon what I've already learned and continue to update the site. I have also spoken to both the Hershey Bears and Washington Capitals web directors and have been given permission to use the Caps site but not the bears. I will continue to watch the Lynda videos and update my website.

1/21
This week I put together my initial site on WordPRess. I'm still playing with the themes and trying to figure out which one I like the best. In order to take my site to the next level, I'm signing up for lynda.com. Watching the tutorials on this site will give me a clean, professional look on my final site. I have created a twitter account to use in conjunction with this site and will be embedding pictures, audio and video into the site. I met with my advisor, Monica, earlier this week and this put the project into perspective for me. I will be looking in the school library over the next week for an academic source mostly relating to blogging in general and how it has changed. I will also be emailing both the Washington Capitals and the Hershey Bears shortly.

Proposal
For my senior capstone I will be using WordPress to follow both the Washington Capitals and their minor league affiliate, the Hershey Bears. Having never used WordPress I will need to familiarize myself with the site and teach myself how to use it. Using WordPress I will have more than just a blog, I will have photos, videos and live links. I will need to contact both the Capitals and the Bears to make sure that I have permission to use videos and/or photos from their sites. I will also try and arrange interviews with players, which will be much easier with Hershey than with Washington. I should have no trouble coming up with a minimum of 20 blog posts as I will report on games played, key injuries and transactions and other team/organization news.
